An Explanation

I would like to announce that the changes and additions to this website are still under construction. Please be patient and wait for an explanation.

Good News from Russia: The Russian translation of Fascinating Womanhood has been completed and is now on the market and selling well. The publisher reports that the first printing was 5,000 copies and they have sold 1,000 to date. Our teacher there has contacts in many parts of Russia and plans to hold conferences on the “Power of Femininity.” To quote from her email: “I am very happy that Russian women can now read FW and have a chance to change their situations in families for good.”

Good News from Japan: Our publisher in Tokyo also reports good news: After several years of diligent and careful effort, keeping in tune with the Japanese culture, Mr. Sugiyama, president of Cosmo 21 publishing company reports the following: “Little by little, circles of FW are widening. I have a feeling that a grass roots movement to make the society better has finally begun. I hope that there will be hundreds of teachers in the future and will try my best for it. Now there are readers who order 10 to 20 copies at one time. Different kinds of circles and groups seem to be using the book. Hopefully some of them will be potential teachers.”

Good News from the US: Please forgive if I quote from the May issue of this website: The evening of May 6 2004, the US Senate passed a resolution in honor of American Mothers. Senate resolution 348 reads as follows:

“To protect, promote and celebrate motherhood. Whereas the second Sunday of May is observed as Mother’s Day; Whereas motherhood and childhood are entitled to special assistance; Whereas mothers have a unique bond with their children; whereas the work of mothers is of paramount importance, but often undervalued and demeaned Whereas mother’s concerns about their children and their education should be supported by the national agenda; Whereas a child’s healthy relationship with the mother predicts higher self-esteem and resiliency in dealing with life events; Whereas the complimentary roles and contributions of fathers and mothers should be recognized and encouraged; Whereas mothers have an indispensable role in building and transforming society to build a culture of life; and Whereas mothers, along with their husbands, form an emotional template for a child’s future relationships: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, that the Senate,

(1) recognizes the importance of mothers to a healthy society, and (2) calls on the people of the United States to observe Mother’s Day by considering how society can better respect and support motherhood. “

Please note that the Senate still opens with prayer each and every morning, salutes the American flag, retaining the phrase “One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all,” followed by inspiring talks by well prepared Senators.

Good News from the World:

Tuesday, December 07, 2004

Yesterday the United Nations General Assembly observed the final event of the International Year of the Family. At preliminary conferences that took place throughout the world this year, nations affirmed foundational principles of human rights: Marriage is the foundation of families, families are the foundation of societies, and the role of government is to protect and support families. Yesterday, representatives of many nations took the floor to affirm these principles, including the Unites States assistant secretary of the Department of Health and Human services, Wade Horn who noted that “the states foremost obligation is to respect, defend and protect the family.”

The only dissent came from the European Union, which tried to use the occasion to advance various anti-family measures, including homosexual marriage. However, that extremism was rejected by the rest of the world, which affirmed that marriage and the family form the base upon which every human society has always been built.

William Saunders, Senior Follow at FRC (Family Research Center) who has been deeply involved in efforts to promote protect and defend the family had this to say: “This is a great day for the family, for men, for women and for children . The world is united at least on this one point. The family, founded on marriage, is the bedrock of a healthy society. Government’s role is to help create conditions that lead to the formation and sustenance of healthy families. “
