“Thank you so
much for giving me teacher authorization. When I applied for
authorization I committed to losing 40 pounds before teaching
the class and you agreed that I should. I am losing weight but
it is coming off slowly because I am breastfeeding. I am
thrilled, though, to be losing weight and am looking forward to
teaching classes in the fall. I read in your site that you now
recommend study groups but I would rather teach outside of our
home to avoid noise interruptions, since we have six children.

would like to share with you what my Mother’s Day was like
this year. I had been reading Fascinating Womanhood in
preparation for teaching the classes and had been polishing up
the areas I had let slide some. Well, my husband who is a Staff
Sergeant in the army recruited our six children to
assist him and spent the day pampering me like a queen!
He made breakfast for me, he and the children cleaned the house
and he wouldn’t let me lift a finger to help. When I would
try to pick up something he would say, “Ah, ah, ah, what
are you doing? You leave that alone today. This is your day.”
He also told me to go to the PX (Post Exchange) and spend $100
any way I would like and he would watch the children so I would
have the time and concentration to shop! He also bought me
roses with a note saying the variety of roses were called
Queen.

Dreams Fulfilled
“I got married
just over a year ago to the most wonderful man I ever dated,
and it has been the best year of my life, even with a lot of
difficulties during the year. I am 36 and had been thinking
maybe I would never have my dream fulfilled of being a
housewife.

as a young teenager but didn’t believe that boys were that

still have a lot to learn about being a wife, but I am very

A Remarkable
Success Story

Fascinating
Womanhood Classes: During the past three years many women
have requested permission to teach Fascinating Womanhood
classes. I have sent them Teacher’s Application Forms to fill
out and return to me with a $6.00 application fee. In reviewing
these application forms I have, in most cases, been favorably
impressed with their qualifications and given them an
authorization to teach. The problem is, and has been, that very
few authorized teachers on our list have actually taught a
class. This is discouraging because there is such a need for
good teachers.
I know there are
reasons, and reasons I need to understand. If you are an
authorized teacher, reading this message, please take the time
write to me and let me know why you have not found it possible
to teach a class, up to now. Perhaps there are solutions to
this problem. This is what I am seeking. The needs is great but
the laborers are few.
Because few authorized teachers are teaching
classes, I have stopped recruiting new ones. I have suggested
Study Groups instead. This is a successful solution in many
cases but there is still a need for the full authorized 12-week
course taught by a fully qualified teacher. I have allowed the
classes to be taught in churches without a formal permission
from the FW office. Only the minister’s approval is
necessary. This will continue but so far has not filled the
desperate need that exists. May God help us to get this
information to those in need before it is too late and many
more marriages fall on the rocks. It is my firm belief that
each person who has knowledge that is vital to someone else has
a moral duty to share that light with those in darkness.
